Expert in Tenacity and Overcoming Setbacks
Connie Martin
Connie Martin is the sole-proprietor and owner of Words From The Meander, LLC. She established the company in 2021 ahead of the launch of her first book, The Art of Picking Up Dog Poop- Leading from the Middle.
Her leadership style found its roots in the military and continued to flourish during her diverse assignments supporting military customers for over 30 years in corporate and middle management. A continuous learner in the software industry, she has also enjoyed a robust technical career that integrated the operational perspective with the practical application of evolving technology. Connie brings a wealth of experience balancing the challenging demands of the middle with perseverance, resilience, and optimism while pursuing creative solutions as a team. Her transparent and energetic communication has helped many people and projects (including the National Cyber Range, the Joint Strike Fighter, and the Air and Space Operations Center) move forward with a fresh understanding of the potential pitfalls, risks, and opportunities ahead.
Late in 2021, she retired from Lockheed Martin and stepped into a new adventure. Now a published author, narrator, speaker, facilitator, and mentor, she gets to share her passion by motivating and encouraging others to discover and embrace their unique leadership style as they navigate through the meander with humor and grace.
Connie has an Associates degree in Liberal Arts from New Mexico Military Institute and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Florida State University.
